5N/6D Meghalaya Trip

Welcome on arrival at Guwahati Airport. After greetings drive to Shillong (4 hours approx.), the heritage town which still retains its colonial charm. Enroute stop and visit Umiam Lake. A man made water reservoir, the Umiam Lake is a popular tourist attraction in Shillong. Check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast sightseeing of Cherrapunjee. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and Arwah Cave. At a height of 340 metres, the Nohkalikai waterfall is the highest waterfall in India. You can view the waterfalls from a viewpoint located at the end of a mountain ridge near Cherrapunjee’s main market. The Seven Sisters Falls in the East Khasi Hills district is a waterfall to see only during the rainy season. These falls are the fourth highest waterfall in India and form seven layers which is an awe-inspiring sight. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast drive to Dawki (3 hours approx.). Dawki is the border town of the Indian side of the Indo – Bangladesh border. Enjoy activities in Dawki like boating, Canoeing (optional). Thereafter drive to Mawlynnong one of the
cleanest villages in Asia. This village borders Bangladesh and you can have a great view of the plains of Bangladesh from here. Trek to the living Root Bridge which is a real delight to see. Later drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.

Today sightseeing in Shillong visiting the Don Bosco Museum, Catholic Cathedral and the Wards Lake. Afternoon visit the Elephant falls. Evening at for shopping and own activities. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast drive to Guwahati (4 hours approx.) On arrival check in at the homestay. Afternoon visit the Assam State Museum and Srimanta Shankardev Kalashetra. Evening enjoy sunset cruise on the mighty River Brahmaputra (weather permitting and subject to availability on direct payment basis). Overnight at the hotel.

Today visit Kamakhya Temple and thereafter transfer to airport for your flight back home.
